Monster Mania 2012 Con Review

Hi,

Well, this was the first time that I had ever attended a Horror con and I have to say, it’s a lot different from an anime or comic con. I thought I would do a quick little review to give you all an idea on what I experienced.

Pros:

Actors:
For such a small con, Monster Mania was able to really get some great name actors to attend. Each of the actors I met were very kind and acted as if they were really having a great time and happy to see you. Not one of them acted as if they were too good for the con or treated me with any lack of respect. I was expecting that just because they were famous but was very happy that it didn’t happen.

Quiet:
I love have laid back everyone was at this convention. People were very polite and just social. There were a lot of parents there who brought there kids so it was a controlled environment.

Good Location:
Hunt Valley, Maryland is a great place to have this con. There were plenty of places to go eat and they were really all within walking distance if you didn’t feel like driving. I hate going to cons where I have to drive a distance just to get a coffee. This was a great surprise.

CONS:

Night:
I only had one major issue for this con and that was the fact that there was absolutely nothing to do once the con ended at like 6pm or 7pm. Everyone seemed to huddle at the hotel bar for a few hours but that was really it.

I’m used to anime cons where they have raves and panels at night. Next time, I need to bring some movies or something to do because sitting in a room for hours just chatting loses its appeal after a while.

Soooooooooooooo…..I give this con a 8/10. I really recommend giving Monster Mania a try. Check out this link for more information: http://www.monstermania.net/

Hope to see you there next year!
